Embedded DVR devices do not utilize Windows operating system. This video hard drive actually does not require any software. The computer chips in this DVR have all functions contained (embedded) in its own software. You can view the video in real time. The embedded DVR devices operate like a VCR, however, have more powerful feature and are easier to use.
The Embedded DVR converts either NTSC or PAL analog video to digital images and records to its hard drive. This allows you to access recorded video almost instantly without having to fast forward or rewind a tape, and you don’t have to adjust the tracking. It allows you to freeze single frames or rewind and fast forward with no image streaking or tearing. Video can be indexed by time and date or events, allowing you to select that portion of the recording. There are convenient connections on the back for video and audio input and output.
